Mandwa village became famous since it was pictured as native place of Amitabh Bachchan’s in Agneepath movie. Mandwa is one of the gateway to Alibag. It’s mostly famous as Jetty which usually used by locals and tourist make travel between Alibag to Mumbai and vice versa. But in recent years it has been gaining popularity among the richest persons in world to purchase second home or farm house. This coastal village has many bungalow of famous celebrities, businessman and politicians.

The easiest way to reach Mandwa is to hop on a ferry from Gateway of India, Bhaucha Dakka. Three different ferry companies operate from Gateway of India. It will take approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to reach Mandwa. Journey time again depends on type of boat service you have opted for. Once you reach here you immediately feel difference with clean air and pleasant environment.

There are very limited number of restaurants and hotel around this area, as you expected this very costly area of Alibag in term land prices as I mentioned this mostly second home of very rich peoples. But having said that you are free to enjoy beach there are not restrictions. At night you can enjoy Mumbai Skyline which easily visible from beach.
