Intangki National Park is a wildlife park located in Peren district of Nagaland, India. Among the creatures that inhabit the park are the rare hoolock gibbon, golden langur, hornbill, palm civets, black stork, tiger, white-breasted kingfisher, monitor lizard, python and sloth bear. The name "Ntangki" is derived from the Zeme dialect of the Zeliangrong tribe.
One of the most popular tourist attractions in Kohima, Nagaland, the Intanki National Park has a total area of 202.02 kilometer square. Declared as a National Park in the year 1993, it is home to varied wildlife, which include Golden langur, Hoolock gibbon, Palm civets, Tiger, Sloth bear, Wild dogs, Flying squirrel, Black stork, Monitor lizard, Python etc. The vast stretch of equatorial forest is known for its scenic beauty and semi-tropical vegetation. In the year 2005, the park was declared as an elephant reserve by the government.
Some of the dominant flora found in the national park includes Mahogany, Rattan, Bamboo, Pinus Khasyia, Pinus Caribiae, Palms, Passiflora edulis, Oroxylum indicum, Rubia cordifolia, Elaeocarpus ganitrus, Dipterocarpous macrocarpous, Mesua ferra, Panax gensing, Shorea assamica, Aquilaria agallocha, Pleoni, Phauis, Cymbidium tigrinum etc.

Home to gorgeous valleys, mountains and camping sites, the park is visited by trekkers and campers. The beautiful topography of the park also allows animal watchers to experience the natural resplendence here. You can watch the white-breasted hornbill, kingfisher, kaleej, black stork, pheasants, and more. Some of the other places to visit around the national park include the Pulie Badze, Japfu Peak, and Shilloi Lake.
Well connected by the Dimapur airport and railway station, this tourism spot in Nagaland can be reached by the government and private buses regularly plying between Kohima and Dimapur. You can also hire a cab to the national park from Kohima. Dimapur Airport is well connected to some of the major cities in India like Kolkata, Guwahati, Bengaluru, Delhi. The railway station is however connected to Kolkata and Guwahati.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
The best time to visit this spot in the North East is between the months of November and February. You can also make reservations with the forest rest house to make the best out of your vacation. Some of the other accommodations include the circuit house and the PWD Inspection Bungalow.
